Elephone S8 was starting to get warm this morning after sending a few texts. I turned off the phone after it was getting hot and placed it in my fridge to cool down, as I was worried about the possibility of a meltdown or fire. After 1/2  hr in the fridge it was still quite warm still, so I left it for another 1/2 hr. Finally the phone is cool again, but my battery is dead 0 % and before the phone started to warm up it was at 94%. Seems like the battery had a s/c that caused it to drain so quickly.
Plugged in the charging adapter and it is still at 0%, so will not charge. The phone was purchased through GearBest. Should I contact them, or the service for Elephone?

You are lucky your phone didn't explode. Don't bother fixing it. Just buy another phone, not elephone.

Depending on your location it will be rather... uninteresting to send the phone to gearbest for warranty.
From germany it costs min. 70€ for a tracked parcel to china...

The battery did eventually recover and charge to 100% , but the type C charging port is really flakey. Sometimes it charges and other times I will wake up in the morning to a totally dead battery, again.
